  • After breakfast, you will embark on a half-day excursion to Mombasa Old Town and Fort Jesus.
    • Fort Jesus: This UNESCO World Heritage Site, built between 1593-1596 by the Portuguese, is a fine example of 16th-century Portuguese military architecture. Your guide will take you through its fascinating history, from its original construction by the Portuguese to its use as barracks and later a prison. Today, it houses a museum showcasing a vast collection of ceramics, pottery, and artifacts from the different cultures that once traded along the Swahili coast.
    • Old Town Mombasa: After exploring Fort Jesus, your guide will lead you through the narrow, winding alleys of Old Town, which dates back to the 13th century. Here, you’ll see significant architectural features such as beautifully carved wooden doors, filigree balconies, and colonial-style buildings. Many of the structures reflect the influence of Arab, Indian, and European settlers. The area has been declared a conservation zone to preserve these historical landmarks.
  • After the tour, return to your beach hotel for a relaxing evening.
  • Dinner and overnight at Leopard Beach Resort.

  • As you traverse the park, you’ll visit some of its most popular attractions:
    • Mudanda Rock: A 1.6-kilometer-long rock outcrop, it serves as a water catchment for animals during the dry season and offers stunning panoramic views.
    • Yatta Plateau: This is the world’s longest lava flow, stretching 300 kilometers, and it’s a sight to behold.
    • Lugard Falls: Although more rapids than waterfalls, Lugard Falls on the Galana River are a scenic spot known for their impressive rock formations.
  • Lunch will be served at the lodge or camp, and the afternoon will be dedicated to further game drives as you explore the vast park.
