Day 1

Arrival in Kigali

Arrival at Kanombe Airport: Upon your arrival at Kanombe Airport in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative.
Transfer to Kigali Serena Hotel: Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the Kigali Serena Hotel, where you will check in and settle into your accommodations.
Leisure Time: Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to embark on optional excursions to explore the city or relax at the hotel.
Briefing Session: Before dinner, you will have a briefing to discuss your upcoming itinerary and answer any questions you may have.
Dinner: Enjoy a delightful dinner at a local restaurant, experiencing the flavors of Rwandan cuisine.
Overnight: Return to the Kigali Serena Hotel for a restful night’s sleep.

Breakfast and Departure: After an early breakfast, prepare for your journey to Nyungwe National Park.
Drive to Nyanza: Travel 136 km south to the traditional seat of the Rwandan monarchy, Nyanza.
- Visit Royal Palace: Explore the Royal Palace, which has been meticulously restored to its 19th-century glory using traditional materials, offering insight into Rwandan royalty and culture.
Proceed to Butare: Continue your journey to the university town of Butare.
- Visit National Museum: Discover the National Museum, renowned for housing one of the best ethnographic collections in East and Central Africa, showcasing Rwanda’s rich heritage.
Lunch in Butare: Enjoy lunch at a local eatery in Butare, tasting the local cuisine.
Drive to Nyungwe Forest: After lunch, embark on a scenic 130 km drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Dinner and Overnight: Arrive at your accommodation in Nyungwe, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Days 3 - 6

Exploring Nyungwe, Gisenyi, and Volcanoes National Park

Day 3: Nyungwe National Park Exploration:
- Chimpanzee Tracking: After an early breakfast, set off deep into Nyungwe Forest for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the forest while searching for these incredible primates.
- Lunch at Gisakura Guest House: Return to your guest house for lunch and relaxation after your morning adventure.
- Tea Plantation Tour: In the afternoon, visit a nearby tea plantation to learn about tea cultivation and production, enhancing your understanding of Rwandan agriculture.
- Dinner and Overnight: Return to Gisakura Guest House for dinner and another peaceful night in Nyungwe.
Day 4: Journey to Gisenyi via Kibuye:
- Drive to Kibuye: After breakfast, depart for Kibuye along the scenic shores of Lake Kivu. This picturesque drive allows you to enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding landscapes.
- Lunch at Moriah Lake Resort: Arrive in Kibuye in time for lunch at Moriah Lake Resort, where you can savor your meal while taking in the stunning scenery.
- Boat Ride to Gisenyi: After lunch, embark on a scenic boat ride to the lakeside town of Gisenyi.
- Dinner and Overnight: Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation in Gisenyi, where you can relax by the lake.
Day 5: Gisenyi to Volcanoes National Park:
- Early Start: Rise early (around 5:00 AM) and enjoy a picnic breakfast before embarking on your drive to Volcanoes National Park.
- Gorilla Tracking Briefing: Arrive at the park offices by 7:00 AM for a briefing on your upcoming trek to see the golden monkeys.
- Golden Monkey Tracking: Your driver will take you to the starting point of your tracking adventure, where you will spend the morning searching for these playful monkeys in their natural habitat.
- Lunch: Return for lunch and then embark on a scenic drive to view the stunning twin lakes, Ruhondo and Burera, capturing the picturesque landscape of the region.
- Dinner and Overnight: Spend the night in Ruhengeri, enjoying dinner and relaxing at your accommodation.
Day 6: Gorilla Tracking Experience and Departure:
- Final Breakfast and Park Visit: After an early breakfast, head to the park offices at 7:00 AM for the gorilla group allocation and briefing by your tracking guide.
- Gorilla Tracking: After the briefing, your driver will take you to the starting point of your trek, where you will have a magical hour spent observing the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
- Lunch: After your unforgettable encounter, enjoy lunch at a designated area before preparing for your return journey to Kigali.
