Adventure Expeditions founder Richard is a native Kenyan who lives in Kenya and travels extensively in Africa. Co-Owner Diana, German by birth and trully Kenyan by choice also lives in Kenya and both are available to consult with you at any time about whatever you may want or need.
Our Itineraries are perfected by our extensive hands on experience and local knowledge. Additionally, Diana is the co-author of the Dumont Travel Guide, so far translated into various Europen languages.
Committed to supporting environmental sustainability in which the effects of our day-to-day activities leave a positive impact.
In addition we pledge to plant a tree on behalf of all of our supporters (those who have travelled with us).
All our 4-wheel drive custom safari vehicles has a pair of binocular, animal and bird guidebooks, and bean bags for stabilizing long lenses. Plus every guest is guaranteed a window seat to maximize viewing pleasure
All safaris / travellers have a comprehensive Medical Evacuation cover by the East Africa’s famous Flying Doctors thus nsuring that medical treatment and emergency transportation are available to Adex travellers should the need arise.
Well trained and experienced guides with broad knowledge about the history, geography, culture, people, wildlife and birds in addition to excellent driving skills.
All our guests are met and assisted on arrival and at the end of their safari regardless of their arrival or departure time.

We didn't book directly through Adventure Expeditions, but through a tour company in Switzerland. Our first stop was in Nairobi. A walking city tour was booked for us at mcf panairobi (www.mcfpanairobi.or.ke) - an absolute highlight - Augustin led us through the city and we learned a lot. The Adventure Expeditions driver - Dixon - explained and told us about Nairobi as we were driven from A to B. We learned a lot about the city and the people and laughed a lot. An absolutely great guy. The entire safari of 6 days was just WOW. Our German guide Daniel, just 23 years old, knew everything about the animals and the park we visited. His German was perfect and you could see his passion for the animals and the country. The driver Steve got us safely across all the roads, even if we often thought that would never be possible. We can highly recommend Daniel and Steve.We wish Daniel all the best for his training as a safari driver and would be happy to book him as a driver on the next safari.

As a family of five, we traveled for a total of 11 days (one day tour) with Adventure Expeditions: Watamu, Tsavo East, Taita Hills, Amboseli and Nairobi National Park. From the first contact through the planning to the implementation, we always had the impression that we were in very good hands. We had wonderful days despite our limited budget. A big thank you to Diana for the careful planning and to our two drivers Maurice and Gabriel. We can unreservedly recommend Adventure Expeditions for people who already know Kenya (like us) or for first-time visitors.

Richard and Diana have now helped us during 3 different trips in and around Kenya and I would never visit without their invaluable expertise. They are kind, knowledgeable and most importantly - extremely informative - when it comes to traveling across east Africa. Our safari in Kenya with Adventure Expeditions was an amazing adventure. We have seen all the Big 5 and many many more.From booking to traveling everything was perfect. Our tour guide Patrick was very friendly, fun, and very helpful not just during the safari but also when we were checking in for lodging, food, and all our needs. The office in Nairobi was very helpful and generous and available all the time. We also visited some local artisans and local market. Accommodation was well chosen. we definitely will come back.We would recommend Adventure Expeditions for anyone traveling to East Africa. Our safari was a once in a lifetime experience.

Meet the Founders

Richard Adika

Born in the “Eastlands”area of Nairobi, where he was seeing the Mombasa – Nairobi train stopover at the Makadara station next to his school. He remembers everyone in class watching in awe as the train stopped and we only continued class once the train moved onward to its final station about 7km away in the city center. “This was the moment I realized travel is magical and how it brings you to other places – it got me thinking of the ocean, the rivers, mountains and forests that the train went through. The “unknown” started a spark that would become my passion. After many years of managing other safari companies and having met Diana, Richard ventured out and founded Adventure Expeditions. His two decades in tourism brings a deep knowledge of safari offerings, connections and tested skills to the company.

Diana Schreiber

Born in former East Germany it was unbelievable for Diana that she will ever put a foot on the African continent. After the wall came down Diana studied business and economics and later she founded her own company a business and tax consultancy firm for creative people. She used all her spare time to travel and lost her heart in Africa. Diana was changing her life and selling her company when she met Richard. Spontaneously she joined him at Adventure Expeditions and brings sound management principles and the view from the customer perspective into the company
