This itinerary offers an immersive journey through some of Kenya's most iconic wildlife destinations. Starting in Nairobi, you'll be welcomed and have time to unwind before venturing to Lake Nakuru National Park for a chance to see flamingos, rhinos, and giraffes. From there, you'll head to the famed Masai Mara, where game drives offer the opportunity to witness the Great Migration and a plethora of wildlife against stunning savannah landscapes. After exploring Lake Naivasha with a relaxing boat ride, you'll continue to Amboseli National Park, known for its breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants. Each day promises unforgettable wildlife encounters, beautiful scenery, and comfortable accommodations.

Day 1 and Day 2

Arrival and Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 1 – Nairobi

  • Upon arrival at Nairobi’s airport, you will be greeted by a personal guide who will transfer you to your hotel.
  • The journey through the city center allows you to witness the vibrant life of Kenya’s capital.
  • You’ll check in at the Trademark Hotel, where you can relax after the flight and prepare for your safari.
  • Your stay includes bed and breakfast (BB).

Day 2 – Lake Nakuru National Park

  • After breakfast, you’ll embark on a 3.5-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.
  • Upon arrival at Flamingo Hills Camp, you’ll check in and enjoy a lunch.
  • In the early evening, you’ll go on a game drive where you’ll witness wildlife such as waterbucks, zebras, and the park’s famous flamingos.
  • The park is a sanctuary for endangered species like black rhinos and Rothschild giraffes.
  • You’ll learn about conservation efforts to protect the dwindling rhino population.
  • After an exciting day, you’ll return to Flamingo Hill Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 – Masai Mara

  • Depart Lake Nakuru and drive to the iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve.
  • Known for its abundance of wildlife, Masai Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, famous for the annual wildebeest migration.
  • On arrival at the Basecamp lodge, you’ll check in and have lunch.
  • In the evening, enjoy a scenic game drive where you’ll encounter various wildlife species such as lions, elephants, and zebras amidst breathtaking savannah landscapes.
  • All meals and an overnight stay will be at Basecamp.

Day 4 – Masai Mara

  • Spend the day exploring Masai Mara, a wildlife haven teeming with elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and over 450 bird species.
  • Optional activities include a hot air balloon ride over the Mara plains, followed by a champagne breakfast or a visit to a Maasai village to experience local culture (both available at extra cost).
  • All meals and an overnight stay are again at Basecamp.

Day 5 – Lake Naivasha

  • After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha, a serene freshwater lake located in the Great Rift Valley.
  • Lake Naivasha, surrounded by the dramatic backdrop of Mount Longonot, was historically a landing site for East Africa’s first air passengers.
  • After checking in and having lunch, you’ll take a peaceful afternoon boat ride, offering opportunities to spot numerous bird species and admire the area’s natural beauty.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at Lake Naivasha Country Club.

Day 3 to Day 5

Masai Mara and Lake Naivasha

Day 6 to Day 8

Amboseli National Park and Departure

Day 6 – Amboseli National Park

  • In the morning, drive to Amboseli National Park, known for its iconic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
  • The park’s dry and dusty landscape contrasts with lush green areas created by underground streams from Kilimanjaro’s melting snow.
  • You’ll spot big game such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes.
  • After a thrilling day of game viewing, dinner and an overnight stay will be at Kilima Camp.

Day 7 – Amboseli National Park

  • Spend another full day in Amboseli, exploring both in the morning and afternoon.
  • Besides elephants, you’ll encounter lions, cheetahs, and a variety of bird species like the African fish eagle and pygmy falcon.
  • This is also a great day for photographers, as the clear views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and its towering presence provide stunning backdrops.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at Kilima Camp.

Day 8 – Departure from Nairobi

  • After breakfast, depart Amboseli for the drive back to Nairobi.
  • Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be dropped off at the airport or continue to a beach holiday (optional activities and meals at extra cost).
