This 14-day safari adventure begins in Nairobi, taking you through some of Kenya's most iconic lakes and landscapes. You'll explore the rich biodiversity of Lake Magadi, Lake Naivasha, and Lake Nakuru, with opportunities to see flamingos, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and a variety of bird species. The itinerary includes visits to archaeological sites, the Masai Mara region, and the breathtaking Rift Valley, as well as cultural experiences with the Maasai and Turkana tribes. Highlights include Crescent Island, Lake Bogoria's geysers, and a trip to Central Island on Lake Turkana. The journey ends with relaxation at Eliye Springs before returning to Nairobi.

Day 1–5

Arrival and Rift Valley Lakes Safari

  • Day 1: Upon arrival in Nairobi, guests are picked up from the airport and taken to Trademark Hotel for an overnight stay. The day is spent relaxing in preparation for the safari.
  • Day 2: Begin the safari at Lake Magadi, a soda lake near the Tanzanian border. Drive past Ngong Hills and visit Olorgesaille Archaeological Site. After exploring the site, enjoy a picnic lunch at the lake’s hot springs, observe flamingos, and learn about the Maasai culture from a local guide. Return to Nairobi for dinner and an overnight stay.
  • Day 3: Head to Lake Naivasha, where a boat ride to Crescent Island offers a chance to spot giraffes, hippos, and various birds. After a picnic lunch, spend the rest of the day at leisure and overnight at Crescent Camp.
  • Day 4: Travel to Lake Elementaita and hike the “Sleeping Warrior” hill, a site named after its resemblance to a Maasai warrior. Observe pelicans on the lakeshore before enjoying meals and an overnight stay at Jacaranda Elementaita.
  • Day 5: Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, home to flamingos, waterbucks, zebras, and rhinos. After lunch at Flamingo Hill Camp, embark on a game drive to observe wildlife. Overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp.
  • Day 6: Visit Lake Bogoria, known for its hot springs, geysers, and large flocks of flamingos. Spot bird species like bee-eaters and kingfishers as well as rare mammals such as the Great Kudu. Overnight at Tumbili Cliff Lodge.
  • Day 7: Discover Lake Baringo, a freshwater lake with over 450 bird species, crocodiles, and hippos. Witness local fishermen on balsa wood boats and enjoy the spectacle of fish eagles hunting. Overnight at Tumbili Cliff Lodge.
  • Day 8: Travel through the Kerio Valley to Iten, the famous “home of marathon runners.” Visit the Chebloch Gorge, observe elephants at Rimoi National Reserve, and take in the breathtaking views from Kerio View Hotel, where you can also try paragliding.

Rift Valley Wildlife Exploration

Day 9–14

Turkana and Central Island Experience

  • Day 9: Drive to Kitale, located at the foot of Mt. Elgon. Explore the mountain or participate in a coffee tasting at Cranes Camp. Overnight at The Cranes Nested Tented Camp.
  • Day 10: Fly to Lodwar and drive to Eliye Springs on the shores of Lake Turkana. Relax at the beach, visit a local fishing village, and enjoy a freshly prepared meal of lake fish. Overnight at Eliye Springs Resort.
  • Day 11: Take a day trip to Nariokotome, where you can visit the site where the famous “Turkana Boy” skeleton was discovered. Experience the local Turkana culture and explore the area’s history.
  • Day 12: Visit Central Island National Park, located in the middle of Lake Turkana. Explore its volcanic craters, which are breeding grounds for Nile crocodiles, flamingos, and tilapia. Return to Eliye Springs for an overnight stay.
  • Day 13: Spend a leisurely day on the beach with an optional massage or fishing trip. Enjoy a sunset boat cruise for a final safari experience. Overnight at Eliye Springs.
  • Day 14: Fly back to Nairobi or extend your stay at Lake Turkana.
